Pipo app privacy

Last updated: October 28, 2026.

In one sentence

The Pipo app does not collect or send personal data: everything it stores (profiles, progress, routines, milestones, photos and voices) stays on your phone or tablet.

Who it is for

The app is for children aged 3 to 5 and their families. The children's side has no text, purchases, ads or links out. The parents' area is behind a question for adults.

What is stored and where

Each profile's name or nickname and avatar, the language, the starting island, lesson progress, game answers (with how long each one took), evaluation sheets with the notes parents write, routines, stickers and milestones. Everything is stored only on the device. There are no accounts and no Pipo servers that receive this information.

Photos and voices

If you add a photo to a milestone, the app keeps a copy in its own folder on the phone. If you record your voice for a routine step, the recording stays there too. The microphone and the photo library are only used when you ask, in the parents' area.

YouTube videos

The channel's videos play inside the app with YouTube's player (youtube.com and youtube-nocookie.com), marked on YouTube as "made for kids". When a video plays, the device connects to YouTube/Google, which receives technical data such as the IP address, the device and browser type, and which video is watched; Google handles it under its privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). The app sends YouTube nothing it stores: no names, no progress, no photos.

No ads, no analytics

The app shows no ads and uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools. It uses the internet for YouTube's player and, when parents ask, to download new islands from app.pipoverse.com (only content is downloaded: no data is sent).

Cloud copy (optional)

If parents turn it on, the app encrypts the backup on the phone with a password only they know (AES-256, key derived from the password) and stores it on our server with a family code. The server only receives that encrypted file: it cannot read it or know whose it is. Without the code and the password nobody can recover it, not even us. It can be deleted from the app at any time.

Backup

From the parents' area you can export a backup (a .zip file with the data, photos and voices) and keep it wherever you want. The app does not send it anywhere: you choose where it goes. It contains your children's photos, so keep it somewhere private.

Deleting data

In the parents' area, "Delete all data" removes profiles, progress, milestones, photos and voices from the device, including temporary copies (such as the last exported backup). Uninstalling the app also deletes them. Since we keep no copy, there is nothing else to ask us to delete.
