Grown-up sheet · Level 2 · Scale Island · Big game
How to use it
- Watch the video together with your child. Don't give them the answer. If they stay quiet, wait for Pipo to say it.
- For each challenge, mark just one box:
- ✓ if they answered on their own, before the circle emptied.
- ½ if they answered late or with help.
- ✗ if they didn't answer or got it wrong.
- Pause the video to write things down if you need to.
- At the end, look at the "What to review?" table.
What to watch for on this island:
- Long and short: ideally they look at where each pencil ends (they all start at the same line). If they choose by color or pick the first one on the list, they don't yet compare length.
- The scale: ideally they say "it goes down, so it's heavier." Some kids think the side that goes up "wins." If they hesitate, ask: "Which side went down?"
- Measuring with paper clips: ideally they count each clip just once, from left to right. If they count correctly but skip one, mark ½.

What to do next:
- Everything mastered: they can move on to the next island, Order and time.
- One block not mastered: rewatch those videos for 2 or 3 days.
- Two or more blocks not mastered: it's worth spending one more week on this island.
Common mistakes at this age:
- Comparing without lining up (challenges 1 and 2): outside the video, if the pencils don't start at the same place, the child picks the one that "reaches farther." Put them side by side on the table, from the same edge.
- Believing bigger always means heavier (challenges 3 and 4). Give them an inflated balloon and a small stone: "Which is bigger? Which is heavier?"
- "Empty" with a little water (challenge 6): some kids call the one that has almost none "empty." Marking ½ is normal; play at emptying and filling glasses.
- Miscounting when measuring (challenges 7 and 8): with real clips, have them place the clips right next to each other, with no gaps, and count them by touching each one.
