Grown-up sheet · Level 2 · Path Island · Big game

How to use it

  1. Watch the video together with your child. Don't give them the answer. If they stay quiet, wait for Pipo to say it.
  2. For each challenge, mark just one box:
    • ✓ if they answered on their own, before the circle emptied.
    • ½ if they answered late or with help.
    • ✗ if they didn't answer or got it wrong.
  3. Pause the video to write things down if you need to.
  4. At the end, look at the "What to review?" table.

What to watch for on this island:

  • 3D shapes: it's normal for them to say "circle" for sphere or "square" for cube: they know the flat shape but not yet the name of the solid. If they recognize the shape but not the name, mark ½.
  • Putting shapes together: ideally they picture the pieces together before they move. If they answer only after the pieces come together, it doesn't count (the circle has already emptied).
  • Paths: see whether they follow the arrows with their finger, one by one. It's normal to get lost with "left" and "right": that's what the arrows are for.

What to review?

Rule: a block is mastered if the child got at least one challenge with ✓ and none with ✗.

· 3D shapes 1–2 Stop 1: "Learn" and "Play more" (M13-S1-A, M13-S1-J2)
· Putting shapes together 3–4 Stop 2: "Learn" and "Play" (M13-S2-A, M13-S2-J1)
· Near, far, and between 5–6 Stop 3: "Learn" and "Play" (M13-S3-A, M13-S3-J1)
· Following a path 7–8 Stop 4: "Learn" and "Play" (M13-S4-A, M13-S4-J1)
· Pipo made a mistake! 9–10 Stop 5: "Learn" and "Play" (M13-S5-A, M13-S5-J1)

What to do next:

  • Everything mastered: they can move on to the last island of the level, Sorting and data.
  • One block not mastered: rewatch those videos for 2 or 3 days.
  • Two or more blocks not mastered: it's worth spending one more week on this island.

Common mistakes at this age:

  • Flat names for 3D shapes (challenge 1): "circle" for sphere. With a ball and a plate: "the plate is a circle; the ball is a sphere."
  • Not picturing the pieces together (challenges 3 and 4). Cut a paper square into two triangles and play at putting it together and taking it apart.
  • "Near" and "next to" mixed up (challenges 5 and 6): they're closely related; what matters is that they can tell near from far.
  • Skipping an arrow (challenges 7 and 8): they count the steps but don't follow the order. Walk around the house with paper arrows on the floor, one step per arrow.
