Grown-up sheet · Level 2 · Market Island · Big game

This is the last island of Level 2.

How to use it

  1. Watch the video together with your child. Don't give them the answer. If they stay quiet, wait for Pipo to say it.
  2. For each challenge, mark just one box:
    • ✓ if they answered on their own, before the circle emptied.
    • ½ if they answered late or with help.
    • ✗ if they didn't answer or got it wrong.
  3. Pause the video to write things down if you need to.
  4. At the end, look at the "What to review?" table.

What to watch for on this island:

  • Two clues at once: the typical mistake is checking only one clue ("red circle" → they point at anything red). If they get it right but hesitate between two, ask: "Is it red? Is it a circle?"
  • Sorting and counting: ideally they wait for the groups to separate and count just one row. If they count everything together, they're not using the groups yet.
  • Picture graphs: ideally they compare how tall the columns are without counting. Counting is fine too, just slower.

What to review?

Rule: a block is mastered if the child got at least one challenge with ✓ and none with ✗.

· Two clues at once 1–2 Stop 1: "Learn" and "Play more" (M14-S1-A, M14-S1-J2)
· Sorting and counting 3–4 Stop 2: "Learn" and "Play" (M14-S2-A, M14-S2-J1)
· Picture graphs 5–6 Stop 3: "Learn" and "Play" (M14-S3-A, M14-S3-J1)
· Fewest to most 7–8 Stop 4: "Learn" and "Play" (M14-S4-A, M14-S4-J1)
· Pipo made a mistake! 9–10 Stop 5: "Learn" and "Play" (M14-S5-A, M14-S5-J1)

What to do next:

  • Everything mastered: Level 2 is done! Before Level 3, revisit the check-ups of any island where you marked ½.
  • One block not mastered: rewatch those videos for 2 or 3 days.
  • Two or more blocks not mastered: it's worth spending one more week on this island.

Common mistakes at this age:

  • Using only one clue (challenges 1 and 2). Play "I spy" with two clues: "I spy something red and round."
  • Counting without sorting (challenges 3 and 4): they skip or repeat one. With real objects, have them make little piles first and then count each pile.
  • Picking the widest column or the middle one (challenges 5 to 8). With block towers: "Which one is the tallest?"
  • Mixing up "last" with "on the right" (challenge 8): marking ½ is normal. Line up toys on the table and say "first the one with the fewest".
