How to use it

  1. Watch the video together with your child. Don't give them the answer. If they stay quiet, wait for Pipo to say it.
  2. For each challenge, mark just one box:
    • ✓ if they answered on their own, before the circle emptied.
    • ½ if they answered late or with help.
    • ✗ if they didn't answer or got it wrong.
  3. Pause the video to write things down if you need to.
  4. At the end, look at the "What to review?" table.

What to watch for in this level:

  • Patterns and sizes: notice whether they look at the whole row before answering, not just the last piece.
  • Counting: they should say one number for each thing, and the last number is the answer ("one, two, three: three!").
  • Shapes: a triangle is still a triangle even if it's turned or narrow.

What to review?

Rule: an island is mastered if its two challenges have at least one ✓ and no ✗. The two "Pipo made a mistake!" challenges don't count as an island: if they miss them, review stop 5 of the island on that topic.

· 1. Patterns 1–2 The island's Mix (M1-S5-M) and its Big game (M1-S5-E)
· 2. Sizes 3–4 The island's Mix (M2-S5-M) and its Big game (M2-S5-E)
· 3. Counting to 5 5–6 The island's Mix (M3-S5-M) and its Big game (M3-S5-E)
· 4. Groups 7–8 The island's Mix (M4-S5-M) and its Big game (M4-S5-E)
· 5. Careful counting 9–10 The island's Mix (M5-S5-M) and its Big game (M5-S5-E)
· 6. Positions 11–12 The island's Mix (M6-S5-M) and its Big game (M6-S5-E)
· 7. Shapes 13–14 The island's Mix (M7-S5-M) and its Big game (M7-S5-E)

What to do next:

  • Six or seven islands mastered: ready for Level 2!
  • Four or five: one week of review with the islands not yet mastered, then watch the part that had mistakes again.
  • Three or fewer: it's best to repeat those whole islands before moving up a level. It isn't a failure: every child has their own pace.
